Start Your New
Kitchen Design Today

So, it’s time for a new kitchen design. You’ve come to the right place.

In a world with seemingly endless possibilities, designing a new kitchen can feel like an overwhelming project, so I've created this site with YOU in mind. It's loaded with tons of ideas, secret tips, planning advice, photos and all the expert information you'll need to guide you through the decision making process and create a kitchen better than you ever dreamed!

One of the keys to a successful design and project is being organized, methodical and focused. Don't become overwhelmed with the project as a whole. Break it down into steps and do all the necessary work in each step before moving on.

Decide what theme or design elements appeal of you. From there, figure out colors that work well with your design. This will help with choosing the color and style of your cabinets, tile, flooring, lighting, appliances and countertops. I like to keep a binder with divider tabs for each element of the project to organize samples, estimates and final invoices in order to stay on budget and so I can remember where I want to purchase each item.

Keep in mind that some very small changes can often achieve your desired results. Sometimes we feel that in order to get a new kitchen it involves gutting the kitchen down to the studs and starting over. This is certainly not always the case. It may only be necessary to paint your cabinets and attach new hardware. You would be amazed at how much that will change the look of your kitchen.

Consider these other smaller changes:

  • paint-one of the most brilliant design tools ever!
  • cabinet hardware
  • cabinet painting/staining
  • new countertops
  • new flooring
  • new lighting
  • new applicances

I have seem dramatic kitchen design transformations with just new counter tops--nothing else! And the kitchen looked pretty dated prior. So, be sure that all of the changes are both necessary and affordable for you. It doesn't matter what your neighbor has. In fact maybe you can get the same look for a fraction if you play your cards right.

Depending on the scope of your project you may need some help from an Interior Designer and/or Architect, but being well-informed will make for a smoother process. You will feel much more connected to your kitchen design project and sure of your choices after reading through the material on this site. Be informed.

You'll find everything you want to know (and many things you didn't know you needed to know) for your kitchen design. Happy designing. Enjoy!
